The Low Oxalate Cookbook organizes foods and beverages by low, medium, and high, meaning amount of oxalate content. Persons following this diet may consume low oxalate foods and beverages without limit, medium oxalate foods and beverages should be consumed in moderation, and high oxalate foods and beverages should be limited or avoided completely.

Per their instructions, try following the diet religiously for a couple months or until pain and symptoms diminish significantly. Then you can test foods in the medium category, one at a time. Foods and beverages in the high category can be consumed once in a blue moon.
